In the past when I have had mini-pumps that connect direct to the valve, I have managed to bend the valve fairly easily (probably a ham-fisted monkey...). Also, even the ones with a lock-lever didn't tend to hold that well.
Now I have a pump with a thread on hose, both those issues are pretty much gone.
I quite like the look of the EDC set up with pump, but aware that it attaches direct to the valve - should I be concerned? It also doesn't have a lock-lever, and looks to connect to both schraeder and presta using the same head - something else I am always a bit dubious of...
Any thoughts?
Thanks,
Duane.
I have an EDC and haven't had any problems, but I only really use it to top up, or in emergencies out on the trails. Mostly I'll use a floor pump. Of course, the EDC has the added benefit that you can fit pretty much a toolkit inside it too 😀
EDC user here too.
Again no problems, pumps the tyre up quickly after a flat. Sit's on my frame with the excellent multi tool inside it.
You can also remove the head part and use it as a CO2 adapter.
Ive had the same issues previously ripping the valve off, however the Oneup EDC has been great, its a really good pump and you can put anchovies / money etc inside it.
I'm in the market for a new pump and mini tool so this looked like a decent deal, then I realised its £50 for the pump only. oh.
Cool, thanks all.
Yep, expensive!
