You don't need to be an 'investor' to invest in Singletrack: 6 days left: 95% of target - Find out more
I just wanted to check if there are any other Kickstarter backers on Singletrack that are still waiting for their Boosters? It's now on sale and showing in stock with many online stores and is already being discounted which means I can now buy the Booster at the same price as I paid to back this whilst still not having received my Booster!
There are a quite a few messages on the Kickstarter page from other disappointed backers that are still waiting for theirs!
Milkit have blamed the distributor for the delay and have said retailers are only taking pre-orders! Well they can't hide behind that now as retailers are holding stock!
They sent out a message in March saying that some would have their Booster before Easter and the rest just after! Apparently backers in Switzerland and the US have received some of theirs. Well it's now mid May and it's on sale and in stock with retailers!
Milkit's attitude on the Kickstarter page seems to be to just ignore the messages from Backers asking questions about where are the Boosters?
Am I right to feel let down by Milkit or is this just what to expect when you back a product on Kickstarter?
Basically Kickstarter is a massive con, and there is no come back if they screw over the backers.
Kickstarter hide behind their T&C's and once something goes awry they just close down any discussion or complaints.
Once I realised this I deleted my login and will never use them again.
Facebook and Twitter are the places to challenge them, pointing out to other potential customers and future backers that this is how investors are treated.
This is a Shame...
I do like the look of the product, but I do struggle to understand why already established companies go down the route of financing new product development and/or tooling through crowd funding sites...
Cheaper expansion capital without the need to pay an investor back I suppose? But to my mind it should really be for startups only...
To be honest, I liked the look of their tubeless valves and kits. Things like this put me off buying though. I don't like supporting companies who con people and lie.
I got a mail from milkit on Monday last week apologising for the delay, they had issues with the dispatch company they were using to send out the kickstarter Boosters which I imagine is why they've been delayed relative to the shop stock.
Anyway, my Booster arrived on Saturday so I'd imagine yours is imminent. Haven't had a need to use it in anger yet, almost hoping for a puncture now.
Nothing here in South Yorks'...
That was my first Kickstarter campaign and I'm now considerring if not the last...
Cheers!
I.
Why would they not do it, more like! You're not putting your own capital at risk, your customers have already paid UP FRONT for a product which doesn't even exist yet. If it turns out there isn't the market you thought there was you don't end up with loads of worthless stock! Plus you're not beholden to an investor & you don't have to give up any of your company Dragons Den style. All the risk is on the backers. Whoever invented Kickstarter must be laughing all the way to the bank!I do like the look of the product, but I do struggle to understand why already established companies go down the route of financing new product development and/or tooling through crowd funding sites
That said, there must be a few success stories out there & some innovative products that would not otherwise have seen the light of day.
