I know this is done a lot but I have no idea on vans, I need to transport dogs x3, bikes x2 or 3 camping gear, various other sports gear. no kids, so i am considering a van as i have had estate cars before. the van would be used every day as a commute, so cant be huge.

I like the idea of ones with sliding doors on both sides but other than that i am clueless.

any one recommend one? and what are my chances of second hand with out getting a trashed one?

My vote is for the Merc Vito, just go for the Mk2.
Mine is brill, twin side doors, and drives great.
Loads of bike space too.

2nd the vito. Great van, drives really well. I have a 108D kitted out with bed, fridge, hob etc not massively fast but ok. Have done week long trips climbing and surfing with the mrs and dog no probs. Bit pricey on repairs though.

120 should sort the fastness problem

Have driven a Caddy and would recomend them, very nice to drive. Bit small, although larger than Berlingo/Kangoo/etc.
