I have, I think, about a 1996 Specialized Allez with alloy forks. It's been kept in a shed for years, I'm thinking about resurrecting it for faster commuting as the weathers getting better but I'm just wondering if those old alloy forks will be ok? They look ok, paint is all ok, but I'm a few pounds heavier than when I last rode it and in the back of my mind is 'will those forks be ok'? The roads are pretty awful in places on the commute. Am I worrying needlessly as these would be as strong as the day they were made? (vague memories of '10 years for alloy' bike frames being said at one point?)
It'll be fine.
Should be fine
This is 26 years old and still gets used regularly
