They come up at 2.5" on a Stans Flow EX rim.
Good shape, and lots of grip. Went up tubeless really easily too.

I'm running them front and rear, and I've had about 5 rides on them now.
The sidewalls seem nice and solid, so I've been running the pressure at about 22psi. No burps or punctures (yet!)

I've got the cheapest (performance?) version on the front of my rigid plus bike (in 2.8" flavour). Definitely a narrow 2.8, I'd assume the rest size up similarly small. It's a great tyre IMO, seems to have hit a sweet spot for weight, grip, robustness and price. I have the "Force" on the back too in the same size. I'd echo the comments about going up easy - went up with a track pump even on a wide rim. Have stayed up too, I've only had to give them the (very) occasional top up.

It's a 10/10 from me 🙂

Modern Michelin tyres are really good. Good casings. Under rated.

thanks woody2000

any chance you could have a measure of the 2.8"
outer lug to outer lug diameter for me? in mm?

it's for the back and i like to cram in as big a tire as i can : )

Jezuz my secret cheap tyre (like a better SE4) and yes they come up a bit small, which is unusual for Michelin's! Surprisingly robust for a lightish tyre, don't get me wrong these are not a DH casing by any means.

Once STW rinse them out the jobs ****ed and the price will double!

so hould i take performance or competition. was ready to shell out for a noby nic, so competition price is acceptable, but temted just ot give perfomance a go, given the price

Unless I'm way out, I reckon it measures at 75mm lug to lug, so actually more like 2.9 inches than 2.8! That's on a 38mm rim. If I lay the tape measure on the tyre and allow it to conform to the curve of the tyre, it's closer to 80mm.

righto thanks a lot woody.
so on my excessively wide rims (scraper 45s) the 2.6 might come up good as 2.6

I went with the Performance ones (£22 a pop at that point from CRC) and I've got no complaints at all.
They seem pretty burly, maybe not quite as solid as the WTB Tough carcass, but getting there.

Just put a pair of 2.8 Force Am on 27.5s and first impression is great - they set up tubeless ridiculously easy and there's a ton of grip - rolling resistance is good also .. Really impressed.

i ordered a perfomance wild am 2.6 in the end
nice and cheap, could afford a litre of sealant too for the price of a DHR
can report back on final dimensions once it's on if anyone's interested.

tho i may try to squeeze the last life force out of my nobby nic first

just to update. tire arrived saturday. went on fairly easy as others have said.
a bit less vlume than the Nobby Nic 2.6 it replaced.

bead-to-bead pulled flat measured less, so that would explain it. it was 156 or something vs 168 on the NN

once inflated, outer 'nob-to-nob' width was 68mm, carcass 66.5mm

on balance i think i prefer the nobby nic as it feels lighter somehow, tho was perhaps a bit too light for my trails, and the grip a little more consistent. the michlin feels more solid. the rubber nice and sticky, but at the same time doesn't feel it'll wear down too quick.
centre nobs are quite wee compared to edge ones, of which there are lots and they are chunky.

all in all well worht the money, and i'm nto sure i could tell the difference between the performance and the competiotion if i had one tbh.
this seems to be how much tyres SHOULD cost...
