Need a new front tyre for the Mega. Currently on a Maxxgrip Assegai, which has been great, but I'm wondering what the new DH22 is like. Zero reviews at the moment, but I thought someone might have tried one.

Didn’t get on with the Wild Enduro at all, but not sure if it’s got the same squared off profile that caused me problems.

Weight and rolling resistance aren’t really relevant to me.

Cheers,

JP

Yes, best tyres I have ever used BUT they feel like your brakes are stuck on, there is a lot of drag so I’d never use them unless there was uplifts.

Not really worried about drag. More worried that my 35mm rims will square them off too much.

your rims are too wide for said tyres. the wild enduro are excellent on my 25mm ex471 rims

Get a Bontrager G5. Amazing tyre. Very good review at blistergear.
Not hard to pedal up compared to say a MaxxGrip shorty WT. really excellent grip. Like an improved Maxxgrip DHR2.
It’ll be a lot better on the edges because it has a proper edge / centre channel that the Assegai misses out on IMO. I was amazed the first time I big wet roots at an angle (in a good way).

I’ve looked at these but the gap between centre and edge tread looks huge. Are they like HR2s where you have a dead spot when leaning them over until the edge tread bites?

In the end I went for a 2.6 Apex Mary
