Well after dithering for the last month on which new bike to buy I was ready buy a cannondale caad 8 when I came across the road bikes at Merlin cycles. Really like the look of the malt rs and the spec is superb for the money. Only problem is I can't find any reviews or feedback for the bike. Anyone on here got one and what do you think of it ?
Well if they are as good value for money as their MTB range you cant go wrong- I am off to look now as I didnt realise they were doing them.
I had a Malt1 for some time. I now use it fully rigid as my commuter bike but need more speed....
I was in the show room last week and they look really good for the money, the paint and graphics are better than older variants. They also had some of the 'sensa' bikes in which also looked fantastic for the cash. I would buy either one of them or the Btwin Triban 5 if i was looking for a £500 ish road bike.
Friends bought a pair of bikes from Merlin,Malt RS for him and a Sensa for her(small size). They are absolutely over the moon with them and i think the service from Merlin at the shop was excellent when it came to the correct sizing.
I asked about them in Merlin the other week when I was in there.
Apparently the Malt RS and Sensa frames are the same underneath the paint.
Thanks. I have seen nothing but good reviews of their mountain bikes so would like to think that their road bikes will be up to the same standard. Love the look of the blue RS and its good to hear that the paintwork is spot on. Not sure of the sizing on them though as their is no geometry info on the website. I emailed Merlin about the sizing last week and haven't heard anything back yet.

How tall is your mate and what size did he buy ?
Just to note, whilst the paint looked fine, it looked like the decals weren't lacquered over? I.e. Just stuck on top of the paint 🙁
