Avast!
Looking at the new Merlin own brand gravel bikes and a quick question on sizing; I’m 5’10ish with a 30” inseam and I’m in a quandary about fit. I ride a large stumpy and have a medium Wilier road bike. Looking at the measurements for the wilier I should be on a 50cm Merlin. Does anyone have one and could give me a vague idea on size/general opinions of the bike?
Cheers!
The geo is a little leftfield, I'm same height with ~32" cycling inseam and I reckon I'd chose the 50cm frame too.
If you're thinking of buying complete bike, might be worth looking at the new Boardman adv 8.9, £900 if you have British Cycling membership for GRX 2*10 including hydraulic brakes.
I have one of these frames. I'm 6ft and on a 53.
If you call merlin, they will sort you out the correct size.
Really fun bike for the money.
Just in from my second ride on the new one.
This years sizing is a bit more ‘normal’ than last years but all the same I got a 56, am 5,11 and it’s a touch too large I think. Shorter stem will help, would like to have tried the 53 but thems the breaks buying online.
Great entry level bike. I got it mostly because they had it in stock and I got it within 8 days of ordering.
Thanks all!
