Anyone had any experience of these guys? Did you use the standard frame builder configurations? There doesn't seem to be much scope for angles etc.

Pics and details greatly appreciated!

I’d imagine wool isn’t the best material for making bikes out of.

Don’t know about Merino, but if you’re after advice on a Marino frame, speak to blackmountainsrider on here. He’s the UK brand ambassador as such I believe...

I thought I was about to read about the latest wonder material for bike frames.

Wonder if anyone's done it?

Avoid Marino, get a Mielec.

Marino's quality is very variable, mine was hilariously different to the drawing and another guy's was very very visibly squint.

A lot of the trials crowd rate Marino highly but somehow when that get translated into bikes with full length seat-tubes they all go to pot. A jigging issue?

Never heard a bad thing about Mielec's quality

What kind of bike are you after?

Hi
I have one of their full sus frames. I have not ever ridden a hardtail from them though.

They were going to send me a couple of frames for mags etc to review, but that hasn't materialized.

There is quite alot of info on the 'steal is real' Facebook page.

My full sus has been great. He now builds them slightly differently to mine, and to be honest they look better for it.

I've raced mine, and given it a ton of abuse on wet muddy Welsh DH tracks, and it's held up well.

As he builds custom frames, there is no point talking about the geometry, but the build quality has been good. The paint has lasted well too. Everything lined up, and the angles etc are as I specced them. On the above Facebook page a fair few people have ordered hardtail frames, and there haven't been any complaints either. I think any issues were in the past.

I'd definitely order from him again.

What kind of frame are you thinking of buying?

Oh, and in terms of geometry etc, you just need to email him, or send him a message on Facebook with what you would like, what geometry, type of dropouts and BB etc.

He's normally pretty good at replying, and he kept me up to date with pics etc during the frame being built.

I’ve had a rigid fork from Marino for 29+, originally intended for bike polo. Tapered steerer, disc tabs, bmx dropouts, never missed a beat. Pretty stiff but not in an “attached a brick to the front of the bike” kind of way. Based on my experience I would definitely recommend!

He was quite popular with the polo lot early on and a few issues did arise but have heard good things since.

Ps. Nice bike Kazafaza

Cheers for the response all.

I've got a couple of ideas in mind; a nippy local woods hard tail which should be pretty easy, but also considering getting a custom front end made for my process. Love the way the suspension works but I've pretty much killed the front end. Not sure if he's going to be able to help me out with that though...

I considered a custom front end, pop along to your local motorbike builder, there was a guy in Sheffield who was interested in helping me out but we never got anywhere which was mainly my fault.
