Recently invested in one of Finisterre's new Merino / Tencel blend base layers. Size Medium.

I'm 5'10", 31" waist, 38" chest, pretty lean in midriff but muscular in shoulders / chest.

Fit is snug and close all the way from neck to half way down torso. sleeves and wrists too, without being tight. Snug around waistband...but there's definitely a fair bit of space around mid back downwards on torso. I had a bit of a shock when I saw how skin tight the various ones on Road Cc reviewed were!

Question is, does this space make it a bit useless as a base layer; wicking and warmth etc? It's so cosy and lovely, just concerned I've wasted  £50!

Nope. Merino doesn't wick. It stays warm when soaking wet.

It also never smells. It's magic.
