I've been looking for some larger lens riding glasses and these kept popping up on my FB feed. They look good with Zeiss lenses that aren't too expensive to replace or to buy additional ones. I also like that they come with a almost clear lens as well.
What are people's experiences with them? Are they comfortable? How's the fogging up?
I have a set, rate them, stay clear the majority of the time, only ever really start to fog if i'm stationary and have a dab on, even then they clear well. I use Bob Heaths visor spray on my glasses and goggle lens which is pretty decent. Lenses are decent quality too. Fit well with my Fox half shell lid.
Got some with the “clear” lens and one of the trail lenses (can’t remember the name of which though). Very good, comfortable, great quality lense, decent enough case though a bit of the case fell out the first time I used it. I’d recommend.
Had them for about a year, I forget they're on most of the time (until some muds hits them!!), that's how good they are. Decent fit with a POC helmet, lenses are great, frames seem pretty tough and really comfortable. They occasionally steam up in certain conditions, but they clear really fast and I've never had an issue. I used the clear (ish) standard lens in low light/dark and they still work well. I tried a few and these were easily the best for me.
Worth mentioning - buying the standard pack which comes with frames/tinted lens/clear lens is the same price as buying all 3 separately.
I just bought the frames and clear lens the other day as that's all I want at the moment, may get a tinted lens next year.
You don't get the case if you buy separately, though.
Really like mine. Alway tucked under the peak really good on.
Worth 20 pairs of bolles all day long.
Thanks for the feedback so far! Sounds like they might well be my next pair of glasses.
@sotonkona Which POC helmet do you have? I'm thinking of getting the POC Kortal Race MIPS helmet to replace my current Giro.
I've got the POC Trabec helmet 1Timmy1 which is a slightly older style, but a great fit
Fingers crossed they will work well together.
got two pairs, since last black friday, love the paint splash frame and my matte grey
lense wise i use the clear (off yellow) for night riding and grim west yorkshire days,
the violet chrome are great UK riding in bright sun or on gravel bike/tarmac looks purple/blue/green mirror lense.
the amber lense worked perfectly in spain last month (hot sunny pure mountains granada)
as others say they only ever really steam up if i stop after a long uphill on a wet day (i run hot)
i'm planning to get another pair brighter frame with the photchromic lense, although the new infra-red lense (road) looks great too.
feel naked without them now. so comfy and fit fine under spec and smith optic helmets.
the only sale they do is black friday/cyber monday, last few years its been deal packs or 15-20% off. so hold off a few weeks
Thanks for the tip, I will hold on and see what offers they have on Black Friday. I will probably get 3 lenses like you have and will get the pack so I get the box too.
I can recommend wholeheartedly too. Mine have been excellent. Had a wee problem in the ordering process, but was all sorted quickly. As a result of that and also not sending a second purchase back, I have 2 spare splatter frames and a Smoke lens surplus to requirements. So, stealth ad, but if anyone wants a used four times splatter frame, with a perfect smoke lens with the same usage for £55 posted with the drawstring bag - drop me a PM. Could swap out the frame for a brand new splatter with white icons for same price. Much apologies for the spam!
