I need to replace the BB on my 2005 Trek 1200, with a Bontrager Select crankset.

I have removed the bolts, but am staring at what is left and can't figure out what sort of cranks they are.

Before I start bashing away, can you tell me what I am looking at and tell me how I am supposed to remove them?

Is it ISIS?

ISIS I would guess. Top hat bung in the axle end and a traditional crank puller.

Step 1: Cut your thumbnail. I've just thrown up.

If I deploy the traditional crank puller, there is nothing for it to brace against in order to extract the crank.

Unless I using it incorrectly...

There will be a puck that rests on the BB axle.

Like this, though I don't know for sure if the Octalink one is good for ISIS.

You could try bodging with an appropriate sized coin but can lead to a screwed up "mangled and unremovable coin" situation.

Two 5p's if your puller doesn't have the easily lost top hat thingy, and try to be sympathetic to avoid the mangling problem said above
