Hello and happy new year to you all!
Have a project on the go to replace the twist shift on my 7 year old's bike to rapidfire and have hit a wall. I had a spare shifter so fitted that but the current brake levers are for TS and won't fit properly with the RF shifter. Have searched and searched and wanted a pair of Tektro JL510's but they are OE. Can anyone recommend some levers for small hands that work with RF, I assume if they are designed for V or linear brakes the pivot point is different.
Many thanks in advance,
Matt
Been round this loop a few times. There isn't really anything helpful easily available. The tektro 510's (I think) came on the big ones sterndale, which I converted to trigger shift and they are far too long, a full 4 finger job when fitted with an xt band on shifter. She doesn't seem to mind though.
I've considered an old pair of xt cable pull or buying isla levers direct from them but haven't got round to trying some off one of the islas I've got for the twins.
I can see that Bob-Elliot have junior Pro-max mechanical levers in stock at £7.99 a pair retail (reach adjustable with a small Allen key). Maybe check one of your LBS for one with account who stocks a lot of their kit as the postage will be around £10 + VAT if I get just them in.
EDIT they are all alloy no plastic levers.
Would some old Avid SD levers do. Small blade, reach and pull both adjustable on most. This sort of thing.

Try frog bikes, they sell spare parts online.
We got short cranks & a few other bits from them for out latest (non-frog) build.

Have done old Avid levers as well as the mid '90s Shimano V brake ones with the short levers. Both worked really well.
