I've got a ticket (Saturday, non-uplift) for the MBR demo day at FoD in a weeks time, gotta say though compared to the list of bikes that were there last year I'm a little disappointed at the lack of brands that will be there this year, especially given that they've changed it to a 2 day event... 🙁

Last year the list of brands was:

Specialized, Scott, Whyte, Trek, Kona, Rose, Intense, Focus, Hope, RockShox, Canyon, Nukeproof, Vitus, Cannondale

Out of that lot I'd ride a Spesh stumpy, scott spark, trek fuel EX, canyon spectral, vitus escarpe, intense primer/recluse, whyte s-150, and probably a couple more!

This year the confirmed brands (with bikes) are:

Intense
Canyon
Calibre
Focus
Specialized
Nukeproof
Hope
Evil
Rocky Mountain
Titici
Vittoria

I'm in the market for a 27.5 (possibly 29) medium travel (140mm) trail bike, so my list to ride would be:

Intense Primer (maybe the tracer, but I don't need 165mm travel!)

Canyon Spectral CF8.0 (this is on my shortlist)

Aaand, that's it. 🙁 I'll ride some other stuff like the evil following/stumpjumper but they'll never be on my list to buy due to price, £5k for a GX eagle/pike build on the following MB is just too rich for me. Might try an e-bike if I've run out of bikes to demo at the end of the day!

TBH the only bike there that's on my shortlist to buy is the Canyon. Last year the bikes on my shortlist that were there were the Fuel EX, Escarpe 27.5 and 29, Canyon spectral, and I'd ride a few others too.

I've bought my ticket and will be travelling the 180 miles each way from Kent - feels like a long way to go to basically test one bike that I'm looking at buying though.

Add the rocky thunderbolt to the list though not sure in pricing. But just a fun day riding other people's bikes isn't it?

Yeah that's my plan, spend a weekend looking at and riding fancy bikes I can't afford.

Did you get any kind of ticket emailed to you or just the order confirmation?

I just got the order confirmation plus an email a few days ago with a pdf with the routes/info on it.

I think apart from a couple of bikes that I specifically want to test as you say it's best to treat it as a fun day out riding bikes I've never normally have the chance to ride 🙂 I'll try some that I'd never really consider like the nukeprood mega.

I really would like to demo the '18 Vitus Escarpe before buying in mid-April but doesn't look like I'll have the chance.

Isn't the new Nukeproof mega-thing mean't to be pretty decent?   Certainly not holding back Mr Sam Hill at the moment!

Oh yeah they're meant to be awesome bikes, but they're 165/170mm travel - I barely even need 140/150mm 😀
