Hi all. Thinking of getting a Crossmark to pair with a HR up front. I already have a HR in 2.35, but the Crossmark only comes in 2.1 and 2.25.

Do either of these sizes match the Minion/HR in terms of carcass width? The HR has 559x52 on the sidewall if that helps.

FWIW I just bought a Larsen in 2.35 but it is significantly bigger than the HR so will probably send it back. Bit anal, but I don't like to have a bigger tyre on the back...

Ok, I just found this page by some searching...

Gold dust! Shame it doesn't have the Larsens on there, I want to make sure i'm not imagining things. Looks like the 2.1" Crossmark is about the same volume as a 2.35" HR, but they don't do it in my preferred 60a compound 👿

I use the Larssen rear HR front combo and absolutely love it, I can't say I've noticed any difference in size though.

I have a couple of cross mark exception 2.1's if ever you go down that route. They are 62a.

Really? Ok, i'll expose myself for the tyre geek I am. I measured it bead-to-bead and it was ~155mm compared to ~143 for a Minion. That's bigger than a 2.35" Small Block 8, and they're huge!

Maybe but they do work very well together.

I'm running that very combination in those sizes and they're spot on! Size is near as damnit, you can throw them round better than a pair of crossmarks and it's much easier going than hr front and rear. 🙂
