Just speccing my Bird Aeris 120 and they only have a limited stock of tyres. What would people recommend from these options for my style of riding which is mostly xc/trail centre red. Don't really need a mud tyre as I am a fair weather rider in the main. Choices are aggressor 2.3, ardent 2.4, minion 2.3 and shorty 2.3. Cheers.

Minion 2.3 front, Aggressor 2.3 rear.

Yep. Minion front aggressor on the back. Aggressor has been on the back of my bike for the past year. Great in everything apart from mud.

As above. Only issue with Minions is they don't clear sticky mud that well so it depends on what you'll be riding on. Great on granite, roots and trail centre armoured trails though!

Minion front for me and would say ardent rear if it was not a 2.4 so I would go aggressor cos of that.

Yari, Orange, xt, xt and black if you are using their configurator. 😀

Just discovered the Aggressor, nice tyre like a mini HR. Also just bought a Yari 160mm from Merlin for £350. Absolute bargain.

Minion front.....but don't discount the HR2, stunningly good and at 2.4 width the tread spacing clears mud brilliantly.
Accepted wisdom has an Ardent on the rear but I find they move around a lot and unpredictably.

I have a Mary front, Nic rear on my HT....a 2.3 HR2 rear with 2.4 HR2 front on my FS....and dual 2.4 HR2s on my DH bike.

Got a Shorty too but never felt conditions were biblical enough to fit it.....if a Mary can't handle things I'm staying indoors with a whiskey!

Just ordered an Aeris 145 - but it doesn't appear to come in that blue colour you can get the 120 in. Love that colour!

Good spec you're picking I think. I've gone GX and guides as well.

Ben at Bird suggested the 2.3. Minion up front and 2.3 aggressor at the back for that kind of riding.
