I'm looking for some mud tyres, with a decent volume, preferably around 2.2-2.3, and widely spaced lugs, so they don't get too bunged up in the clay soil around here. Single ply, preferably folding, and not hugely expensive. Would be getting Swampthings if they were available anyway. What are my best options..?

I have some lightly used Swampthings (42a and 60a single-ply 2.35 pair) which need a new home!

If you like swampthings, you'll love Barons (*), but they're quite a bit more expensive. Just as good at everything, far better at many things, much faster and miles better on hardpack. And so far seems like the black chili should well outlast a supertacky.
