I've got a new bike with XT rims. The tyres that came with bike are far too 'fast XC' sketchy for my ability and preferred terrain - so I'm thinking of trying some Minion DHF 2.35's. Just wondered if anyone on here has tried running these tyres on XT rims? (I'd like to run the non-UST version with Stans fluid in)

Don't want to shell out for pair of tyres that can't be succesfully run tubeless.

TIA

My 2.3 DH Swampies (non UST) went up fine on my 819 rims. Didnt actually lose any air even without stans.

No air loss with non-ust tyres - Nice one 🙂 Are your 819 rims the UST non drilled type? (please 'scuse my UST ignorance, I've only ever run ghetto and Stans type set ups - I know some non-UST tyres have really slack beads that can be impossible to seal)

819s are non-drilled.

Can't comment on the rims but I run a non-UST Minion on a Stans Flow rim with stans sealant and haven't had any problems. If the rims are UST compatable, I would think they would be fine, otherwise use a stans rim strip.
