You don't need to be an 'investor' to invest in Singletrack: 6 days left: 95% of target - Find out more
Hi folks,
Looking to tap into the Singletrack collective wisdom. I have maxxis cross mark on the front and larrson on the rear, 2.35 versions for both as I think the maxxis tyres dont come up that big.
Anyway, I have been having some problems with the rear, a couple of times pushing it hard into a berm, I have felt the tyre deform and hear a loud ripping noise, the bike rights itself and no issues until a little later I sometimes get a puncture/pinchflat. I am not running tubeless.
typically riding about 35psi plus on a stumpy fsr with hope hubs and xm719's.
does anyone else have this problem, is the rim too narrow for the tyre?
Thanks and a replacement recommendation would be great.
Cheers
Alan
I run the 2.35 Larsen tubeless on an 819 rim (so same width) and do find that it will squirm if >30psi. So yes, probably a bit too narrow,
