I have some SB8's in 26" 2.35 form. I really like them in the current conditions but looking for a replacement.

How do the 26" Ikon 2.35's stack up?

I've got SB8's, fast but chuffin lethal as a front tyre! Really like WTB Bronson's which are marketed as a mid/allround conditions tyre a bit like a high roller, but they're much lower profile. I think WTB do a summer tyre which might be worth a shot if you think the Bronson looks too aggressive.

Ikon's very similiar tbh- it's a pretty close copy. I thought it might clog less with mud but it's basically the same. Seemed a bit smaller though?

I find more problems with the rear breaking away under braking. If you can stay off the brakes there is an awesome amount of grip in the dry.

marginally terrifying in the wet and wet grass is just comical.

I have used them both in a 29er flavour. The SB8 are faster rolling off road, not sure about on road as they seem very noisy. In the dry the SB8 are more grippy, with a bit of moisture on the ground they aren't grippy. Ikons can cope better with a damp surface. So I would say the Ikon is slightly slower, but more versatile. Braking with an Ikon on the rear seems better too.

On my bike I ride mainly in the summer I have SB8, my all year bike normally has Ikons on (currently Ikon on the front, Burt on the back).
