Anyone running this tyre? Would appreciate your thoughts. It seems to get good reviews and is a good weight. Off on a trip to Torridon this month and thinking the 3C MaxxTerra EXO version might be worth a punt. Fancy trying something different (and a little lighter) to a Minion. Will it be up to such rocky trails?

I put a 2.3 on the rear earlier this year and it tore on first mildly rocky descent
Seems a bit thin and fragile
Still running with a tube in
Was thinking of swapping it out for weekend in the Lakes
Thanks for reminding me

There were reviews of the 2.6 in upstate NY around Jan-Feb 2018. Forget which US sure it was, but should be googlable.

Edit; here it was. Doesn’t actually say anything much about rock friendliness, but guy generally likes it. I’m sure I’ve read that the 2.3 and 2.6 Forekasters are quite different.

I think there is too little tread and too much exposed carcass for the forecaster to be robust on rocks. I have a 2.6WT Rekon on the front which is likely to be a better bet - more of the tyre is covered by tread, less exposed carcass, better in the rough.

Side by side

comparison

My 2.6 on i30 is only about 2.45". I do rate them though, a bit draggy on the rear so just swapped that for a 2.3 SS.

Not ridden any rock yet though, just sweet loamy goodness!
