I'm planning on running a Double Down Agressor 650b x 2.3" on the rear on a 3omm internal rim.
Up front, I wanted a DHR Wide Trail Exo 3C MaxxTerra but they seem to be like rocking horse poo. I can find either:-
1) DHF 2.3" EXO 3C MaxxTerra (but not wide trail, so might be a bit square on my rims)
2) DHF 2.5" EXO wide Trail Dual Compound. A better profile but less grip.
Anyone with first hand experience care to comment and offer guidance?

I have a DHF 2.5 3C Maxx Grip on a 29 mm rim, could also take measurements/photos of that if it's any help?
Personally, I wouldn't settle for either of those. The DHF 2.3 I have on a different bike (26") is much narrower. The DHR2 dual compound I have also isn't that grippy.
Have 2.5 WT up front and love it. 2.3 DD Aggressor is a great rear too. Both o 29mm internal rims.

Sorry, a DHR crept in to the OP somehow. It should have been DHF. Too many bloody options for Maxxis tyres. I guess that's why the one you want is never in stock. Zee Germans should be getting a delivery in less than a week which beats the UK delivery date by some significant amount.
Thanks for all the info folks. Seems from what you've said, the dual compound isn't ideal up front. From what JT says, I wonder if it's good enough for the rear!
Just FYI, in case you're considering it - the 2.6 version is a very different carcass to the 2.5, so if you want to run paired with a DD on the back, I would suggest sticking with the WT 2.5 rather than the 2.6. The 2.6 is lighter, and more supple, definitely faster rolling too, but they are pretty similar in size and grip (although the 2.5 does have the Maxx Grip option I think the 2.6 lacks right now, but that is very draggy!).
Is the 2.6 designed to work on narrower rims (say 25mm) than the 2.5 WT that is designed/shaped specifically for wider rims?
And will a 2.6 fit in the rear of a Mk1.5 Aeris?
They make no claims over the rim width for a 2.6, but that said, the WT fits happily on anything probably about 27mm int. up, so does the 2.6. I think the WT moniker will go soon enough, the reality is trying to run a 2.6 on something less than say 25mm is just bonkers, 25-30 is ok but not optimal, 30+ is good, why pigeon hole a tyre to just 35mm? I don't think there's really any difference in the shape of a 2.5WT to 2.6.
Will a 2.6 fit? Yes. Will you have adequate clearance? No. Same goes for your forks if they are still Rockshox 2017 or earlier I am afraid.

Have the Sweep which seems to have more clearance that the rockshox, though I guess maybe not enough.
Yeah on a sweep you're fine. They'll go up to 2.8 no problems.
My current front tyre for gnarlier riding in less filthy conditions is a DHF 2.5 WT with a Shorty 2.5 WT for when it's muddier. Not noticed any problems with a Flow EX (25.5mm internal) being too narrow for them. I don't run super low pressures though, usually low 20s on the front, so they're unlikely to squirm at my moderate weight - I've had the DHR2 2.3 on the back squirm in the berms at BMCC when had the pressure down near 20psi rather than my usual mid 20s in the back, which is a feeling I really don't like!
My other front tyre of choice is a High Roller 2 2.4 which is a bit quicker rolling, not quite as grippy but handles everything from loose to hard well as long as you accept it requiring a fair bit of lean before it bites. All 3C Exo versions btw.
