On 27.5 im used to 25-30mm I'd rims with 2.3-2.4" wide tyres, with maxxis exo tyres I'd typically run 28 psi rear and 26 psi front.
Recently moved to 29x2.5wt with 33mm ID rims, do I really need to go down to 24 psi rear and 22 psi front for a similar feel?
These aren't plus tyres but not that far off, do I really need to compensate this much?
Does this fit with others experience?
Things like weight & aggressiveness of rider etc all taking into account but I'd say yes. I've recently moved from 27.5 WT to 29 WT and dropped pressure by ~3psi (from 22 to 19).
Personally I'd go as low as you can go before it starts feeling "soft" in the corners and then go back up a bit. I think lots of people still run tires too hard especially when pro's are in the low 20's and are hitting things much harder than I do.
Whether those numbers are right for you I couldn't say, but yes increasing volume makes a tyre act in a lot of ways like it's higher pressure so you might well want to drop it, and sometimes by a fair amount. TBH though you should probably figure out the right pressure any time you fit a new tyre, sidewalls and tread shape and that can have as much of an effect.
