Thinking of treating myself to a set, couple nice second hand pairs about. Altho, at certain events and races I've been at this year, seem to see a lot of people having issues with then, main one I've seen a few times is the back rim buckling rather easily!! Would you class a rear rim width of 19mm (internal) to be too flimsy for all mountain/peaks/enduro events riding???
Probably shooting myself in the foot here, but I wouldn't buy them second hand. The beat thing about them is the mp3 insurance.
I mangled a set (front and rear) in 4 months with the riding you described. I'm off to the bike shop to pick up my new pair in a min. Sent off to mavic last Thursday, brand new pair arrived yesterday.
they look cool, depending on the bike, and also you then need to buy yellow shoes.
Have to say, everyone I know who has them says they are great wheels, until they break. To be honest, they aren't that light for the money....
Just got rid of some Slr crossmaxs, ace wheels and super light, but I'd just end up killing em over time, just fancied these 'enduro' specific ones, that as it seems, aren't really that enduro ! Lol. Looks like sticking with my rovals! Would if been tempted with the nuke proofs , but can't seem to find a yellow set in 650b.
If you bust a rim it needs to go back to France. E.g. That job is £250 for a Deemax, can't imagine a Crossmax being much different - **** that!
