I have a pair of 2015 crossrides the front bearings have gone, the right side bearing fell out ok but the left side can only be fitted by going through the right side.
inside the wheel is epoxied where the tube joins the spoke carrier on either side so i would need to scrape out the epoxy to drive the bearing in or have i got this all wrong ?

confused.

I don't know about your exact wheels but mavic used to have a sleeve inside that expanded when you tighten the axle. You are supposed to be able to slide it out once you've removed the circlip and got the tapered washer and so on out by flipping and tapping. Could the epoxy be retaining compound? The only mavic hub I've had appart also had circlips inside that had to be removed. You dive out one side to the outside, remove the circlips push the other side of to the outside. Assembly is the reverse.

Not come across anything like that on Mavics before, nor on the service doc's available without a log-in. What suggests it has to go through the hub? Pics may also help.(reply to original post, not 1st reply)

I've a set of Crossride XL's of similar age, and had XL's of much older before that.

Both I've changed bearings on, following YouTube videos. There was a certain process of which side first etc, but easy overall.

One for the LBS if not.

The left hand side of the hub has a lip so it is impossible to fit the bearing from the left side it must pass through the center tube from the right it is then retained by a circlip.

So I had to take the wet and dry to the epoxy to get the bearings in which then drove in surprisingly easy both from the right side fitting the circlips is a bit of a challenge.

I am surprised i could find no info for this on the net, all's well that ends well but yesterday I was having a moment of panic.

I'm not surprised you were confused - that is the weirdest arrangement I've ever heard. I'd be a bit worried if the bearings went in easily that there isn't enough interference there, which might explain the epoxy (although unless that was a bodge by an amateur mechanic, I stingly suspect it was some form of retaining compound.)
I did have trouble with a hub that seemed to have a lip preventing the bearing coming out that turned out to be a trim cover that came off.

Be interesting to hear what mavic have to say on the subject - did you try emailing their tech?
