Morning all.
I recently picked up an old S-Works Enduro. Love it.
Anyway, it came with a pair of mismatched wheels. The rear is a Mavic EN321 on a low end shimano hub and the front is a Mavic EX717 on an old Hope hub (which still runs very smooth).
Although I've got no rear issue with either other than the rims are different colours (one black one silver) would a pair of Crossride's be much of an upgrade?
I'm only riding trails at the mo so nothing too serious.
Cheers, Jon
I wasn't keen on my crossrides, fairly heavy and not particularly strong. Whats your budget? You can pick up some second hand stans rims on pro2 hubs for £180-200

No. Pretty much a downgrade.
If you like the hope hub and mavic rim why not get a new 717 built onto a pro2 evo hub in the same colour.
I would never go for mavic wheels again with their proprietary parts even if they are very good wheels.
I've used crossrides in 29" flavour. I like them.
Look great, never had problems with bearings or freewheel.
Spingy, but always seem to spring back straight.
Lateral stiffness also springy so if hitting berms at speed then you can feel the back end moving about a bit.
IMHO reliable well priced wheels though not stiff or particularly hard hitting.
To be honest that was what I was thinking. The Hope hub up front is really nicely made so maybe I'd be best getting a new rear hub on to the En rim and a matching rim for the front hub.
I do like the sound of the Stan's on Hope pro 2's but I think I can get similar but spending a lot less money using what I've got so maybe I'm being a bit of a tart regarding matching bits.
What hope hub is the front one?
Not sure to be honest. It's an older one I think. Bearings run like butter though.
Have a Google for hope xc and hope bulb. Could be one of those.
Not much to go wrong in a front hub except bearings so I would be tempted to keep it.
