You don't need to be an 'investor' to invest in Singletrack: 6 days left: 95% of target - Find out more
Morning all - I have a set of 2013 (?) Mavic Crossride 29er wheels which came with the ITS-2 2 pawl freehub, on which the freehub died - the same thing happened to the same wheelset 3 other pals had, so there clearly was an issue with those freehubs. My wheel was replaced with a Hope which is still fine. However, I'm looking at re-using the Mavic wheels now and was wondering if anyone has used the 4 pawl ITS-4 freehub in these wheels instead? Looks identical except for the pawls obviously, but loath to buy one then find it doesn't fit. If anyone has tried can they let me know how they got on? I can always use a 2 pawl one anyway, but just thinking the 4 pawl version would be hopefully stronger. Cheers!

you need to upgrade the axle too.

Thanks lovewookie after posting up, I had the bright idea (doh!) to ask Mavic themselves and they said no problem, as long as I ordered new pawls and springs - they don't come with the freehub - and didn't mention the axle. Will give it a try when the new frame turns up - cheers
