Out for a ride today and noticed top gear of 9 speed cassette slipping,closer inspection revealed the lock nut had come undone ,i remember when fitting wheel (2012 version)the manual showed fitting a ring before the cassette which i purchased from crc ,my question is do i need this ring can anyone enlighten me thanks
No, you don't need the 1.75mm spacer on a recent Crossmax - just the thin one that comes with the cassette
you would need the 1.75mm with one of the older cross ride/crosstrail.
Yup. My old Crossmaxes (Enduros) needed a ring though strangely when the freehub was replaced the new one which was supposed to be identical didn't.
It's really obvious if it needs the ring tbh, the cassette will be very slack.
