Looking for a new pair of SPD shoes for this year to replace my aging Shimano AM45's. I've been looking at the Mavic Alpine XL which seems to have been reviewed favorably in the press but what are your experiences?
How waterproof are they? Will the cope with stream crossings without getting wet feet?
How is the sizing? I've seen some people report them as being fully one UK shoe size down?
Any good alternatives out there?
Love mine.
They are not waterproof. At all. I wear over-booties if really grim.
Similar fit to Specialised boots. Will be getting another pair when current ones finally die (but no sign of that yet).
Pretty much what Leku has said, but with the positive of having feet that look like a stormtrooper and the negative of people asking you if you got them from Morrisons.
Sizing is definitely on the small side.
