Need some help here

Got an aksium hub in a state but this isn't the main issue.

The main issue is odd!! The disc side is 3mm closer to the nds than it should be and I have no clue how!! End caps are seated and on correctly IMG-20240502-WA0007

This shows the proximity of the rotor to the disc mount

And again

I've tried another wheel - see below

Expected clearance

So obviously the issue is with the aksium hub

Any ideas?

Have you serviced the hub and swapped end caps or spacers by accident

Certain Mavic hubs can be reassembled incorrectly. Check the axle is correctly seated, or if a 2 part axle is properly screwed together.

Mavic tech docs are available from both Mavic and other sources, depending on year.

Biking barn in Wales are winding up their store, but Stuart was really helpful recently and may still have any parts you need.

Cheers Keith

It's not been disassembled from new - the owner had a situation 2 weeks ago where the disc rotor unscrewed it's self also!!

No as it's centre lock

On the Insta360 Ksyrium hubs there's a snap ring that fits round the axle under the NDS end cap - if that becomes loose the whole hub is free to shift on the axle under load and it can destroy a set of pads before you get home to see what's causing the annoying random brake rubbing.

That makes sense as the only bit I've not got to is that as the eggs cap is very firmly stuck on
