OK so you're not meant to use them but I am thinking 2-5mm would work OK...any experience?
OR any HIGH stack-height headsets out there?
Extended base plate? I know King do them, would get you 5mm without effecting the top race
There's a note on how to use them here;

'some' looks to be ok.

Ta - looks like as long as the top steerer part is in full contact with the upper HS race then it's OK (despite instructions not to use any spacers on the main product page!)
I ended up machining an extension to the top nut, as I needed to use about 20mm of spacers even with the low top-crown. Seems to have held so far....

I had about 5mm of spacers under the top nut, like it shows on page 4 of that link, and it was just fine - and it was done that way by a (proper like Maverick-friendly) shop so its got to be Ok......
There seems to be only 5mm or so of room for adjustment of the crown on the stanchions, correct? I guess the rest is then from adding spacers, 10mm or so.
