Hi there

I need to service and change the travel on my mattoc. There are no tool kits available any where. Does any one know where I can get hold of one quickly or has any one got a set I could borrow.

Or better still a set they dont need any more I could purchase

Obviously id pay postage and id happily put a deposit for the sets worth into your paypal account refundable on return of the set if I were to borrow one.

Any help would be gratefully appreciated thank you in advance

Been on the lookout for one myself. Is it not just a hacksawed cassette tool and a thin wall socket?

The cassette tool should be easy enough with a decent hacksaw.

the socket should be doable with a drill and something abrasive, not sure how much patience it’d take.

Hi,

I cobbled together my own.

The top cap is just a std 24 mm socket.

The cassette tool needs to have a segment cut out of it if you want to service the air chamber piston. I just used a hacksaw on mine.

The hardest part is to ground down a socket. I used a drill and a file. Another option is to use a 4 mm allen key.

If you look on forums.mtbr.com/shocks-suspension/  there a Mattoc thread with lots of info on making your own DIY service tools

I don’t suppose you know the diameter the socket needs to be turned down to?. My bikes at home and I have some time to kill and a drill..

There’s a removable plastic bumper/spacer on the bottom of the air shaft above the air valve. If you take that off there’s enough clearance to push the air shaft into the upper leg and get (from what I can remember) a park fr5 cassette tool over the valve and onto the splines.

That way also stops any possibility of scratching the air shaft with the cassette tool and you don’t need to cut It out either.

its been turned down to 10.08mm and youll want to make the reduction about 30mm along the shaft.
