Got the first couple of rides in on the CRC Manitou Mattoc, and I must say is a bloody great fork. We dropped down from Esk hause to borrowdale last night, and it was so easy on the hands, with great control and absorption of the bigger hits.
I was looking at Pikes and Lyriks when I was recommended the Mattoc by a friend.
It's still in stock on CRC for 300 sheets, if you're in the market for a new fork, you should seriously consider it, and save yourself hundreds over a more fashionable brand. It's a bargain.
I agree, I got a set of these forks back in May and it was a massive upgrade from my fox 32 performance OEMs for a bargain price. Also got a set of race face turbine wheels from CRC which were knocked down from 800 to 350 which are also cracking.
Agreed, good forks. I’ve just swapped 2015 Pikes for them due to a worrying creak (turned out to be a loose damper cartridge). The Pikes aren’t going back on anytime soon.
Been using Mattocs since gen 1 and apart from the DVOs I have not much really compares with em .
Is there 1/1/8 X 26 version?
Straight steerer no, but they do include instructions in the box to swap the spacer to make a 170mm 26" fork 😉
The IRT is worth while having
Yep, based on the online love for these forks I pressed the buy button. £269 with British Cycling discount.
