Got a lovely matt grey road frame to build up, can I use a copter tape without spoiling it's looks?
If so, apart from the chain stay, down tube and cable rub bits, what else should I do?
I don't really want to cover it, just give it a fighting chance to stay looking nice.
Yes.

Check eBay ..there's a couple of sellers on there who sell matte tape.

Yeah, I saw the Paragon website, but they use too many colours and fonts for my liking.
Maybe I'll try them.
I bought the paragon matt tape for my duck egg solaris. Ended up just using it on the head tube as it didn't seem to like sticking to big areas or tight curves and looked rubbishy.
Edit: thinking about because the matt paint isn't perfectly smooth is perhaps why it doesn't stick like gloss tape.
I used Paragon matte tape on my Mojo SL-R and it looks spot on. Follow the tips on using water with a dash of washin up liquid in and hair dryers for a good finish.
InvisiFrame, not as hardcore as helitape but the matt goes perfect with my SB66c matt finish.
