I've gained a set of X7 Shifter on a frame which is a bonus but they only have the screw holes where the matchmaker clamps went. Is there any system that lets me use the shifters without buying Avid Brakes which I've never really got on with. I prefer to keep all bikes on one system (Shimano) one bleed kit one type of fluid etc. Is there anything about that lets me join them together or just replace the mount?

Technical and yet cheap I like your style, remarkably it's what Avid choose to make their brakes from.
Alright this makes sense, Sram shifter 21.99 clamp is 19.99. I might put an offer of 1 quid for a shifter.
get a reverb, and matchmake the shifter onto that.
(may be far more expensive than buying a clamp 😉 )
