Matching Tanwalls from different brands

Yes, I know a lot of people don't give a c**p about this kind of thing, and many others find tanwalls pretentious

I like them however, and am wondering, asthetically, what brand tanwalls can be mixed without triggering my OCD; sidewall colours seem to vary a lot, and I don't trust stock pics that much to match before buying something

Has anyone mixed Teravail and Maxxis for example?

I'm calling BS on your self diagnosis of OCD. You wouldn't even consider mixing tyre brands if you were OCD.

Mismatched shades of beige would be the least of my worries.

Did you not see the Maxxis thread? Tyre brands can't be mixed, and certainly not different tan wall colours, you monster

Unless they're coming out the same factory I'd be surprised if any match, even if they're close they'll still be slightly different.

If matching matters, don't even go there.

tan walls go darker with time anyway, no chance they'll be the same colour after a month or two, even if you hit the jackpot and they match brand new - which is very unlikely.

Tyre from mixed brands?  Seriously, why would you.

You'll soon be asking about Shimano levers with Magura calipers.....

Mountain bike or gravel bike?  I ask as a chap I have ridden with has tan walls on his gravel bike but then felt the need to match the bar tape to the sidewalls.  I think he bought about 12 different bar tapes online before he was happy with the match.

I've got a WTB Trail Boss and a Maxxis Ardent, both in tanwall, on one of my bikes.

Couldn't give a toss if the shade's slightly different. Only swapped to the Ardent because I kept putting holes in the other Trail Boss.

First time I've considered it for years. I will have to consider the logo design carefully as well; I'll start another thread for that, of course.

I don’t know how you sleep at night…

I don't.

Mountain. I'm not that bad as your friend, and I take some comfort in the fact that I'm not as bad as one of the many roadies I see that has matched their entire outfit, socks and all, to the colour scheme of their bike.

There is SOOOO much wrong with this thread!

I think I've spent too long on the Radavist looking at things like... Oh dear god, this is what I've just found when looking for a pic to post here... Now I only have myself to blame for this thread

That's obviously a lighting issue, notice how the back of the frame looks a different colour to the front and the front tyre matches some of the cat, the rear other bits.

Maybe it's a catalytic colour version?

no tan wall will match from different brands.

If however you do want be a pervert and mix different brands of black tyres some fine wet and dry sanding pads and little bit of time and you can remove all logos without buggering the tyre unless you are some sort of hamfisted buffoon.

If you mix tyre brands and leave the logos, then you are a deviant of the highest order and should be removed from society to ensure that your genes are no longer available in the pool...jeebus it'll be socks and sandals next

I've no idea why I started this thread, I'm slightly disappointed with myself

Tyre from mixed brands? Seriously, why would you.

Essentially I just want a tanwall 29 plus tyre to go with my existing Maxxis -- Teravail prob the only option. This did not require the starting of a thread

Mate of mine has one blackwall and one tanwall on his ebike. We've all told him but he just doesn't care. Should I unfriend him?

If you are matching Vittoria's I can confirm they go a lot darker after a few rides

My Pirellis have faded somewhat in the sun, were a lovely dark shade to begin with

Same tyres, 18months age difference…

Front one has calmed down a bit, but a winter of commuting should match them right up.
