I have a Resolution and extensively test rode a Definition. Brilliant bit of kit. It has subsequently become my only road bike. Comfortable and relaxed but responsive enough that if you put the hammer down you feel like its punchy. Its clearly a compromise but for the potholed lanes of Sussex its been a game changer for me. I got mine in Nov and suddenly found myself commuting the 50miles each way into work through winter on a fairly regular basis - unheard of on any other of my road bikes. The best thing I can say is that it makes me want to ride, far & fast. In hindsight I would probably go for the Definition over the Resolution. Simply because it was a little stiffer, a little lighter and cheaper.
Running mine with Hunt 38 Carbons (brilliant) and Ultegra Di2 (not yet convinced) and Deda carbon finishing kit (rated)

I don't have a definition, but have a Bokeh. If I wasn't still waiting for the eTap HRD groupset I ordered last December to arrive then I'd be taking it to Italy to ride with Eddy Merckx, however it hasn;t so I won;t be.
I have ridden it at Paris-Roubaix and CtB's Gravel Dash and around the surrey hills (on and off-road) and its light enough, fast enough, strong enough to do probably 75% of the riding that i do.

Ready to pull the plug but was hoping (as I've mentioned on any of the Mason threads here) that Dom goes flat mount on the rear end of the resolution/definition. Not sure it needs a bolt thru like the bokeh, but my guess is the won't do one without the other. Purely aesthetics I guess, and I want to keep it for a very long time.

I have cash waiting and nearly bought secondhand. By the time the change is made I guess I'll have enough for a ti Aspect (ti version of the definition/Resolution, due next year)!!

Buzzard - would you say the definition is noticibly more sprightly than the Resolution?

Beagle = Aspect - now that sounds very interesting. Like all these things, its hard to tell but I found the Definition more "sprightly" although not show stopingly so. In the end I went with my gut which will always say steel but like I suggested in hindsight I think for my riding I would have been better served to save some cash and some weight and go Definition. Perhaps also waited for Etap over Di2. That being said, I love my resolution and asking me to part with it now would be very difficult.

oh and I'm running Corsa G+ in 28mm flavour and these are simply a revelation for my riding.

Not got one, but would really like one, however I can't get over feeling that the price is a bit steep considering the weight.
And putting aside the fact the Definition is much prettier, I can't help feeling the Bokeh makes it redundant - more versatile with virtually no drawbacks.

As with @beagle, funds are available, but yet not quite convinced myself to spend them yet.

I've had a Definition for about two years. It's an absolutely brilliant bike, that seems to be very capable at whatever I use it for. I've been touring in France, towing the baby trailer, long audaxes, night rides, fast sportives, etc. Sure, they're not cheap, but the tubing is custom made, they're built in Italy, and the paintwork is incredibly high quality. I doubt there's a massive margin being made on them.

The Bokeh thing....that is what is holding me back. I have a Bokeh and apart from the times when I take my race bike out, I haven't ridden anything else this year - on or off road.

I have been looking for something with tubeless wheels, disc brakes and can be ridden 'fast and far'. The Definition seemed to meet the need but although a little more robust, I am not sure the Bokeh isn't already filling that gap. I have different wheels for the Bokeh, including a pair dedicated to road tyres (just what I have chosen to do rather than anything else) so it is about as versatile as I can get it.

It may just be a case of having the cash to splash and having it burn a hole in my pocket!

Makes no sense if you already have a bokeh 😕

I have to agree with dirtyrider, if you've got a Bokeh there's no real need for a Definition.
I've also got a Bokeh with a coupe of sets of wheels and in all honesty it's as fast as any road bike I've ever had so I can't imagine that I'd be needing a road bike as well.

Spend the extra money that's burning a hole on a couple of sets of nice carbon wheels fit the Bokeh instead 😀

Deffo Surrey prices. If they were 25% cheaper I'd consider one.

New Bowmans Pilgrim X is out soon though, £800 and newer than the Mason.

Agree David, but after seeing them in the flesh, they seem a real cut above in terms of finish and the levels of thought/design which has gone into them.

And I'm a tight northerner 😛

Are 650b on Horizons THAT much slower than 700c wheels?

Know its an old post. Have done about 8k on mine. Self build. Train/Commute and Audax rides on it. Great bike very stable and smooth. Started out with 28mm Schwalbe One Pro on MasonHunt  Wheels tubeless. Didnt  last long enough and slip in the wet. Bought it because wanted something different. Supered Audax bike. Wouldnt ride it off road. Mind you i ride my Giant SX adv crosser nearly all the time now lol
