Just put an order for some corsa Sl RC's they aren't in stock until 23rd so got plenty of time to cancel.

Have marzochi regained their reputation?

I had a set of marathon SLs, very nice, especially love the lock-down function.
BUT Windwave are pi$$-poor at getting hold of spares, gave up and sold them after three months of trying and bought something else.

So they are good but the technical support is useless?

Just got some 44 micro ti's for the 29er. Plush as a plush thing.

Have a look on huck n roll as they do some bargains 🙂

I'm not familiar with all of the details of the current Marzocchis, but here is a 2011 30% off http://www.cambriabike.com/shopexd.asp?id=113411

2010 44's let me down on a riding holiday and it's sort of put me off slapping down the cash.

Windwave were the weakest part of the process taking 4 weeks to turn around a fork that merely needed a seal.

Life is too short.

My 2010 44 rc3 ti are the best fork I've owned by a long way. Definitely would not hesitate to buy more forks from marzocchi. Infact I've recently been trying to find an excuse to buy the 55's to replace my totems.

On the flipside, friend of mine blew the cartridge in his 66s (not sure which ones) while visiting me in Pompy. He called Windwave, ws told to drop the forks in and they repaired the fork, inc full service and bushing/seal change the same day, meaning he could come and ride again that night.
I have found that if they have the prts in stock they are brilliant but if not, it can take months.
Can't comment on the reliablility of newer ones as my 1998 Z3s and 2004 MX Pro are still working perfectly...

I'm guessing you will hear bad and good things about every company

I think the latest forks are okay again but Mazocchi have now given up haven't they? I think they recently announced they are pulling out of mountain bike suspension completely. Shame.

Where did you hear this news? Because that'll mean the spares are harder to find

errm, probably read it on here...so must be true 😉

IIRC the thread had a link to a marzocchi press release though, so unless I've confused Marzocchi with another manufacturer (possible) I'm fairly sure it is actually true

I've got the Corsa SL LR, budget version. The brochure says they're internally adjustable between 80, 100 and 120mm travel. As standard they're more like a 50mm travel fork with adjustable ride height. I've had mine apart numerous times in an effort to improve the ride. There's a huge and massively over strong top out spring that either robs you of hte top 30mm of travel or means you have to put so much air in that the forks become very much less than smooth. Then the compression damping is two stage with the first 70mm being far too weak and the second stage being the blow off for the lock out and hence far too strong.
The only positive I can see for these forks is that the oil volumes used are large enough to bode well for long life.

seems likely/logical that Suntour would buy them out, pretty sure they actually make Marz forks and even after the 2008-09 debacle Marz still have more brand recognition and a better rep than suntour (for every basher in a thread there's a "my 10yr old Marz are still going strong" post so lots of us still rate them).

Raceface, GT, Cannondale amongst many others all bounced back from the financial abyss with barely a break in stride. Theres so much potential for Marz- get rid of the cheesy graphics, re-build the old rep for indestructibility and sort their pricing out and they could be a real presence again.

I managed to get some of the wiggle bargain 55Rc3tis last spring, might even get around to fitting them at some point!
