I ride the Long Mynd once a year or so, occasionally venturing over to Stipperstones for a longer day out. If I go on my own I'll take a mtb so I'm not too fussed about the surface. Was thinking of taking friends over who ride gravel bikes. They are all fit but won't enjoy anything technical. Does this route look OK? Particularly the bits around Stipperstones. I recall some easy tracks around there but also BWs that were too rocky for a gravel bike. Any help appreciated!

After the 1st climb through the forest I'd just go past the gliding club, don't think the descent is worth the climb back up particularly, or as you're coming back along the top take the descent then ride the road to Bridges. The climb up onto stiperstones off Lords Hill could be tough on anyone riding a gravel bike for real (loose big rocks and rubble) but there isn't a better option. I'd finish down Minton Batch, it's hugely overrated (it's not top 10 UK descent despite what MBR say) but it's the best way down on the south end and it's relatively beginner friendly if you take it steady.
