I suspect the best thing about marmite on toast is that it's not a maccadees breakfast

I think a turd on a lollipop stick would make you feel more sprightly than a mcdonalds breakfast.

A Maccy d's breakfast is food of the gods.

Marmite is the polar opposite of that. The devils turds.

Toast AND Marmite AND butter is the key.

The addition of butter to the equation changes it completely. You still might not like it but don't give up until you've tried it with butter.

Marmite + lurpak butter + Mothers pride plain bread. Yum

Try to put the Marmite on sparingly as well.

marmite is wasted on toast, needs crumpets and cheese

Dont mind the flavour if it helps/fuels me correctly tbh. Mid ride I peter out normally. Today the 6 slices of toast kept me going.

1. Stand by toaster until it pops
2. Butter toast immediately
3. Apply Marmite
4. Eat

Repeat until full. The choice of bread and butter is not important.

Less is more means none at all is best 🙂

@ hora, it's a mystery to me too. I think it's just that every component is better. That and the addition of hash browns.

It's luvverley.. And good for you..
MARMITE NUTRITION
As well as yeast extract, marmite contains vegetable extract, salt, niacin, thiamin, spice extracts, folic acid, riboflavin, celery extract and vitamin B12. It contains 9 calories in a 4-g serving. Marmite is very low in sugar, low in calories, contains no saturated fat and is completely vegetarian. To complement marmite spread, the Marmite company also produces marmite cereal bars, bread sticks, rice cakes and cheddar bites.
BREWER'S YEAST
Brewer's yeast is made from a monocellular fungus known as Saccharomyces cerevisiae, which is used in the manufacture of beer. It is also grown specifically to make nutritional supplements. According to the University of Maryland Medical Center, brewer's yeast has been used for centuries as a supplement. It should not be confused with torula yeast, baker's yeast or nutritional yeast.
HEALTH BENEFITS
Brewer's yeast is a good source of B complex vitamins, selenium and chromium; it also contains pantothenic acid (B5), pyridoxine (B6), niacin (B3), riboflavin (B2), thiamine (B1), folic acid (B9) and biotin (B7). These vitamins have a number of health benefits, including helping to break down carbohydrates, proteins and fats to provide your body with energy. They also help to maintain a healthy nervous system, support your digestive muscles and keep your eyes, hair skin, mouth and liver in good health.

Toast one side of the bread
Apply liberal amounts of tahini(crushed sesame seeds)
Toast tahini side until almost burnt
Then apply large dollop of butter and yeast extract mix together...
The finished toast is soooo savoury and tasty it's almost addictive 😀

Aga toast. French butter with extra sea salt, marmite.

If there was an equivalent to Desert Island " Food " this would be my meal to live on.

Toasted wholemeal bagel, freshly buttered straight from the toaster, sparingly spread with Marmite = post run heaven.

However, on toast, I usually prefer to let the toast go cold enough not to make the butter melt. This way, I find I can control the even distribution of Marmite better. Plus you get a good mix of Marmite and butter.
