Hi

I just bought a cool marin pine 2016:  https://www.marinbikes.com/bike-archive/bikes/2016-pine-mountain-1

I want to have the possibility of using a suspension fork (120mm) to use it on trails when needed. It exist already stock:  https://www.marinbikes.com/bikes/pine-mountain-1

This bike is for riding with my friend in xc or trails (small jumps and drops) but nothing too  hard. I ve been wanting to try a steel hardtail with fat tires so I jumped on the occasion here.

I now have a lot options to play with and would love some advise!

The MP2016 came with:

- Back marin 9x135 QR => will keep it as is

- front wheel: hope pro 4 on wtb scrapper 40 9x100 quick release. I ve bought the adpater to switch it to 15x100 maxle.

The seller also gave me a brand new (warranty): Marin P2017 110x9mm joytech hub. => Currently doesn t fit my bike as the 2016 is non boost. It seems there is no way to change it to 15x110 as the 9mm QR connector are not changeable!!!

I have: rockshox recon 120mm 27,5 non boost + a full suser emtb (don t judge it s tons of fun!) with a front 30mm 27,5 non boost with 2,4 tires on it. I might want to take the hope/wtb 40mm wheels with 2,8 tires to put them on the Emtb.

So to make it front susser my option are:

Option 1: Take the emtb wheel 30mm 27,5 non boost with 2,4 tires and put it on the MP2016 with the recon. All fits. However I loose the advantage of big tires in the front. I wonder if 2.6 tires would fit in the recon as a good compromise?????

Option 2:Buy a 29er suspension non boost and keep everything as is. Miss an opportunity of using the big front wheel for the emtb.

Option 3: Use the warranty MP2017 110x9mm with a fork that s compatible. Does that exist???? Do you know of any adapter where you can use 9mm QR skewer on standard fork 15 or 20mm???

So sorry quite long text here...if anybody has a good advice here it will help. Thanks 🙂
