Youngest of the plusn8's has a Marin Hawk Hill Jr like this. https://99spokes.com/bikes/marin/2019/hawk-hill-jr
Isn't she lucky. It comes with 24" wheels but is convertible to 26".
She has now grown and I need to upgrade.
I need a maxle for it, it I can't work out what size. Its say 142 x 12, but there is a huge range of 142 x 12's.
Does anyone have one of these bikes and has done this?
Any links to where I can buy the correct maxle?
Marin website just says 142 x 12...

Nobody?
Marin UK were inctedibly helpful to me when i needed a dropout for a 2008 bike, importing a few from the US and notifying me when they arrived and were on their site. Suggest asking them.
I've just got one of these. It's hidden away waiting for a birthday but I can have a rummage and measure and photo the axle. Bear with me...
...although before I do, I know it has an adapter for the dropout to convert it from qr to thru. The guy I bought it from specifically pointed this out - I suspect that's the cause of any issue.
rich_s - it will only have the maxle if its been converted to 26.
The bike as standrd 24" comes installed with a special spacer as you mentioned, that converts the 142 frame to qr.
My problem is going to 26, it needs a maxle and there are 4 different "142" maxles I can find...
I am assuming its the 166mm long 17mm diameter 1mm thread, but.....
If you have one fitted it probs has the dims printed on it?
142-166-17-M12-P1
142-166-17-M12-P1.5
142-170-17-M12-P1.5
142-172-20-M12-P1.75
There is reasonable guidance here that probably narrows it down to 2 options. But the options listed in the spec do not tie in with the options for sale on the same page.

Yay! Forum seems to be back. Just posting here in case anyone needs this in the future...
Axle is M12 x P1.5 QR-142E for 142mm OLD frame.
Pic of axle and next to tape measure.

And it seems to be this one:

Looking for the love button! Cheers
I've had confirmation from Marin that the spec is actually:
"The correct rear thru-axle spec for your Hawk Hill Jr = 168 mm_L1 {axle length}, 20mm_L2 {threaded portion}, M12X1.5 {thread diameter x pitch}. Marin factory part #728551."
Hope that helps for anyone in the future!
