Just picked up a marin 140 frame and wondering what stem length I should put on it? I've got a thomson 70mm and thinking about swapping with someone to a 50mm or so - what do others use?

The real answer - whatever suits you.

The STW answer - on a 140mm travel bike you must fit a 50mm thomson, it's the law.

Mine has a 65mm stem, although it came with 80mm (it's a large) although medium frames have 70mm.

70mm on my medium. I'd say it's about how long you want it to feel. Mines nice with the 70mm stem on but i might try a 50 at some point and see how it feels.

schrickvr6 - dirt mag will say 50mm is mandatory but thought I'd see what the mince-core-lite riders would say. 😉

Got 70mm on mine, tried 40 and 60 but they felt too short.

great frames by the way! Tried all sorts of fancy stuff before this and none were as fun.
