Anyone know where would be a good spot to watch some of this from?

Seen the route cards here: http://www.mgpfestival.com/2-Day-Trial/Routes.aspx but I'm not familiar enough with the place to know where's going to be a good bet.

We'll probably take the mountain bikes and ride between a few of the sections, if there's a route that doesn't interfere with the riders.

Any ideas?

Ta!

Ive done this event a few times but the last time was about 10 years ago and my memory is a little hazy 🙁 The best I can do is that Knock Froy is the motocross circuit at the end of day one. Not the hardest of sections but they are all relatively close together and obviously everyone will pass though there.

Worth contacting the organisers to see if they can suggest where to go?

I think there's some near the trail centre at Barrule but we couldn't find them a couple of years ago. As advised - best to speak to the organisers. We missed the riders briefing which would have been the best time.

South Barrule has a 5km mtb trail. You can ride from there to slieauwhallian. Either ride up slieauwhallian (e2e route) or ride toward Patrick and then up Barnell and down slieauwhallian. Best thing to do is get a map (95) and check out where they are riding and plot a route between.

There is a carpark in SBarrule.

Good places to watch?

When I have watched everywhere has been fantastic as the skill levels shown on impossible terrain blows me away!

E is nrm@manx.net and I'll try and provide any help. Could even see if we could get a Ride on.

Like what Nigel said, South Barrule is as good a place as any to base yourself on the Saturday, you've got most of the route from about 10am onwards within about 2 miles as the crow flies from there. Highlights would be Stoney Mountain, South Barrule Quarry (next door, as the name suggests), Ballaspit, Carnegrie etc. buy a map and you can virtually follow the lot. I've ridden it every year it has run since 98 but this is my first off due to work and family commitments.

Then it's the Manx MTB National XC champs at south Barrule, Corlea and Cringle on the sunday morning!
