Had my first ride on my "new" Scott Voltage FR the other day and have to say it's awesome to ride, so much fun and it just flies 🙂 However I'm wondering whether I can get the shock a bit better set up so it's not so dead feeling/works better over small bumps. Asked on another forum and they reckoned that "dead" is its default setting but wondering if there are a few more opinions over here.

Oh and in the manual it says to put the piggy back air pressure at about 70% of your weight but doesn't specify whether that's kilos or lbs - any ideas?

I've also considered replacing with an air shock at some point for ease of tuning (would also help to lighten it up a bit!) but not sure if that's a good idea for this kind of bike..

swinger 4way.. was never an oem rear shock on the Vfr.. so you might be fighting a loosing battle trying to get it set up to perform as well as the frame is capeable of doing.

I've run Vfrs with RP23, DHX air and DHX RC2 and RC4
DHX air has been the winner for me for a do almost everything bike.
160mm fork with a short travel setting on the rear was a killer build with an RP23 for Squmaish shuttles and pedal up laps.

As far as setup on the manipoo.. only ever had a swinger air on my 2003 Giant VT, so I'm no help.
