Kenworthy Woods to be more precise... Tried for a venue in Stockport too but the country park in question wouldn't play ball.

Next event - Thursday night , Chorlton Water Park. Good course, fairly flat but plenty of rooty singletrack.

Cross riders turned up for last 2 rounds ...

And I moved away from there only a few weeks ago...

Last year I said "next year, I'll race that series". Guess what I'm saying this year....

They're next to eachother, sign on/parking at Chorlton Water Park, the start is over the bridge.

Either way - good course, proper burn up mid week.

Does it go over the Chorlton Mountain? I used to take my SS CX bike over that (on my shoulder) as "training" for the last HTN. 🙂

No ...its pretty flat (last round at Boggart was hilly according to the competitors). 3 climbs, all through trees and all rideable if dry. Great section of singletrack as you turn right over bridge and along river then cut into the trees. Tried to keep it off the gravel paths and rarely do we have to go along them albeit they do provide a respite to drink/overtake etc

(we had a manchester wheelers lad on a cross at last round)

I know BHC - that's where we (Mcr Whls) put on our annual cross race. It's lumpier than most courses.... Not sure who raced that on a cross bike - I suspect you'll get a couple more for this one: Mick Style lives in Chorlton, so may race his crosser or MTB.

I spent 10 years using round there as my playground (though thankfully I never did encounter any men wearing corsets as binners once famously did). Nothing like it where I am now (west Lancs).

Hope it goes well..!
