It's amazing how the body heals, both physically and mentally. Take it a step at a time but shouldn't be long before back riding. Fantastic to hear you're out of the hospital.

I hope the second mile, back up from Costa, went ok too. Keep climbing out of the hole, sfb.

no artificial colours on my legs, just a trick of the light 🙂 From what I've been able to gather, it was a harrowing experience for many others, and my son was told I'd never be able to care for myself, but I slept through all that and as soon as I regained consciousness started trying to escape!

Hmmm, some would say that's obviously true. Just look at the state of those shorts 😯
Do you even own an iron???

Through being away in Greece until a few days ago (internetless) and, since I got back here, not paying as much attention as I should to forum posts I completely missed this until this morning.
What a shocker would be an understatement! However, I'm really, really glad that you're be on the mend Simon. From one old fart to another, keep on keeping on, yessir - all the very best!

yes I do own an iron, kindly given to me by a club member, but I've not had occasion to use it yet. As far as I'm concerned, my body isn't flat so my clothes don't need to be either 🙂

I have a card from someone signing themselves "Esme" showing a group of 1920's ladies with their bikes captioned "here we are: powerful erotic and ready to go". I have no idea who Esme is 🙂

I missed you when you left this place Simon.

A bit drastic, but you've pulled off the best return since Lazarus.

Take care.

Sadly I spent an hour (or 3) looking through 4 year old mugshot thread on here last night. A little sad to see so many well known names haven't posted for a year or two. Nice to have one back. Don't bugger off to Twitter or wherever it was SFB, you are needed here.

I don't how I've missed this thread until now......as said above, I wasn't expecting something quite so serious as this.
Anyway, good to hear you're on the mend old chap and hope the recovery continues.

what has struck me is the kindness shown to me at every stage - the heroic members who kept me oxygenated with CPR until the ambulance arrived, the staff at Blackpool and Lancaster hospitals and everyone who came to visit me while in hospital and after with offers of help 🙂

Bit of a thread bump and unfortunately not for the right reasons.

SFB has been around on Facebook a fair bit, he seemed to have pretty much recovered and I saw him about 2 months ago, he was all cheerful and normal.

Out MTBing in Grizedale today though, he had another heart attack and got airlifted to Carlisle where he's in a stable condition.

It's on the Bogtrotters and Great North Air Ambulance FB page:

Best wishes Simon!
