My tyre pile is out of control. any suggestions how to organise it better?
I was wondering about tying them up (with an inner tube) from a hook or similar....
any suggestions how to organise it better?

Matt, pay for postage and you can have mine!
What you need is a tire boy - you simply get them to wear all your tires as if they are belts, if you need more space you can send them outside while you are working in your cave.
They have the added attribute of being a good burglar alarm, although if the burglars do get in then they have a habit of running away, which then requires you to release the hounds to get them back.
With all the dog posts on here, it shouldn't be a problem to choose the correct dog though.
Is it a garage man cave with up and over door? If so, I built a 3x2 framed 'mezzanine' above my door which is full of tyres...
I should probably send some 26ers to matt_outanadabout as well...
I tried to sell mine. The thread was too massive and complex, it developed primitive intelligence, looked at a politics thread on here and ran away
I screwed a bucket to the wall, through the bottom of the bucket and hang the tyres on that. Keeps their shape, keeps them off the floor. I always want the ones at the back first though.
Mine tripped me up and tried to smother me in teh garage at the weekend. Its in the 'take to tip' pile now 👿
If you don't want them but want to sell them then do you have a local bike jumble?
If you don't want them and don't want anything for them then charity sale on here.
Storage wise the bucket is actually quite a cool idea. You can store a helmet inside the bucket too out of the way know knocks.
I've got a couple of tyre racks in my man cave. Simply screw some hooks in to the joists (mine were £1 each from Wilkos - Just a large J hook plastic coated, I use the same to hang bikes) and then a length of 1x1 timber between the hooks.
I wrap mine around extra wheels. Doesn't help with storage too much though as the wheels need to go somewhere 😳

How about if we were staying at Cairngorm SYHA tomorrow? 😉
Them I'm sure a visit could be arranged!
FWIW, I am collecting them and other spare parts as they slowly get distributed for free to others in Wallace Warriors bike club, some of the kids and families are appreciative of some extra bits/better stuff they can't afford or didn't budget for...
See if you have a local club with a junior section close by?

Come on stw, we need a 'like' button!
unfortunately lots of mine fall into the not worth posting category.
all ready disposed of the 26" ones.
When we moved in, the OH parents bought about 15 which i thought i had squirreled away in their garage. they knew all along! 😯
I just wedge them anywhere they'll go.
None of the current collection fit any of my bikes.
I sold loads of used tyres at a car boot for parents who's kids just skid them away. So the latest wife and a workmate of hers did one recently, I extracted 25 or so tyres out the loft , priced and packed them in the car. Explained I didn't want to see them again and ..........
23 returned. Rubbish saleswomen ...........
"So the latest wife" ^.....am I the only one who thinks that's a strange way to think of your other half..Will she be traded on for a more up to date model soon!!!!.
I'm her 'current' husband. I have been for 15 years, although she ditched one before ! I couldn't afford another wife. In fact on a bike/ wife ratio, bikes are cheaper, so would probably plump for a new one of those if it happened!
Always meant to fit and destroy my way through my tire pile. 10m drifts on Tarmac, why not?
once I changed to tubeless my tyre pile disappeared. Two sets only now. An unintended consequence
