Hi I need some ideas for storing all of my bike wear.
There is no room in the house (apparently) so any body got any ideas on storage for my bike wear in the garage?
Thinking about a small cupboard with a tubular heater in to stop damp/mould etc.
I'm thinking if I just dump all my gear in the garage the will be mouldy in a week.
What do you lot do?

I've got an old chest of drawers*, the top of which serves as a work bench. Fortunately my garage is dry and my stuff has been in there for years with no mould issues.

*properly solid wood thing. Not flat pack. Check out freecycle as its the type of thing people can't move without a van.

I just hang it up. Admittedly, wet shoes get left in the utility room to dry out first because its always warm.

I have to ask, do you have 50% of the available cupboard space/draws that are allocated for clothing storage?
If so fair enough, but if you don't....

Jealous of all that space, where do you keep all the other "stuff" that bulids up for usual DIY, like blue water pipe, pex oil pipe, paint and everyone elses stuff 🙂

We have a length of copper pipe between the beams in the loft where we hang all our jerseys. The rest is stuffed in plastic storage boxes.

One of those canvass frame wardrobes in my garage - just because it was going spare. Integral garage so no damp problems

A small cupboard with tubular heater in sounds like a spectacular fire risk no ?

My clothes all live in a wardrobe on the spare room except my coveralls - they live just inside the garage door because that are manky!

Wouldnt wearing relish cold clothes from the garage on a cold day.

z1ppy I don't really have 50% of the internal storage space but I do have my garage!
The tubular heater is only 18w so shouldn't cause any fires!

Some of that stuff lives at the other end.

But some is in the garage and some is in the shed. 😉

Full on pine wardrobe in my garage with all mine and the wife's biking and outdoor gear in. Garage is integral to the house so doesn't get damp. Washing machine is through the door to the utility room a few feet away so shitty kit is all looked after without having to get dragged through the house and making a mess. Works a treat
