I have a partially built cove stiffee that I want to use but I have no forks for it and wont be able to buy any for a few months. But I have some knackered old Marzocchi all mountain forks that I could use if I can come up with a way of making them rigid. Short of setting them in position and drilling and bolting through the lowers and stantions I'm not sure what else I could do. They have some parts missing including the bolts that hold the lowers on so I reckon that bolting through may be the only way.

Anyone done anything similar?

Thanks

Andy

I removed the elastomers and zip tied the fork brace to the crown on some old manitous, ok for commuting might make for interesting handling offroad

worked perfectly until the left stanchion corroded through (hidden by the fork boot) happy days, made the ride home interesting, You've never suffered from vague steering til you've tried a fork with a broken stanchion 🙂

I'd put a wtd ad up for a cheap steel fork - you'll probably get somethign for £25. what you're suggesting sound sliek a recipe for losing teeth.

Fill them with araldite. Jobs a good 'un.

In all seriousness, I'd not go anywhere near a set of forks with bits missing. Recipe for disaster.

Just chuck £30/£40 at some rigids or borrow something if you're that desperate.
